Covid-19 Response

Dear Cognition Community,

As you are aware, North Carolina is currently under a state of emergency as directed by Governor Cooper.  As the impact of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) grows, we want to take this opportunity to share some updates regarding operations at Cognition.

Cognition Schedule
Effective March 17, Cognition will be temporarily closed to the public until further notice. This decision has been made with an abundance of caution to encourage social distancing for the health and safety of our community.  This decision was not made lightly but our Board of Directors are following guidance from state and local government agencies to minimize social contact to the greatest degree possible despite the financial hardship this will cause Cognition.

Birthday Parties and Special Events
We are working directly with families and schools to reschedule events at Cognition. Any special events scheduled during the months of March and April will be rescheduled for a later date.

Family Memberships
At this time we anticipate reopening Cognition in May. The expiration date of family memberships will be extended by the amount of time Cognition is closed.

Cognition will continue to follow the recommendations from the CDC as well as state and local guidance regarding social distancing and the impact of the virus on the community. Every single item at Cognition has been extensively cleaned with disinfectant in preparation for visitors to return once cleared from North Carolina’s State of Emergency.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers at Cognition, we thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Jessica Scott
